There will be 76 days of vacation in the 2024 academic year in public and private secondary schools of the country. School students will get this holiday without weekend. These information were said in a notification of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education on Wednesday.
According to the notification, there will be a total of 76 days of holidays except Fridays and Saturdays in public and private schools. This includes other holidays including Eid-ul-Fitr from March 11 to April 18, Eid-ul-Azha and summer holidays from June 13 to July 2 and Durga Puja holidays from October 9-17.
The academic year will be commenced on 1 January to 31 December 2024. Textbooks should be distributed in light of the guidelines announced by the government.
As per the mentioned evaluation schedule, half-yearly collective assessment, pre-selection examination, annual summative assessment and annual examination should be ensured and the assessment papers and answer sheets of annual examination should be preserved for at least one year. Duration of each examination will not be more than 10-12 working days.
