Dhaka College is decorated with colorful lights on the occasion of Great Victory Day. To commemorate this special day, the main gate of the college is decorated with colorful lights of red and green. The administrative building colored with red and green lighting that has turned into a piece of red and green flag.
On Friday (December 15), the road from the main gate to the administration building and the canteen premises has been illuminated. In the evening, the entire campus glows with red, blue and green lights. Everyone’s mind was taken away by the dazzling light.
Those concerned say that the best achievement of Bengalis is to give birth to a sovereign state through the great liberation war. Therefore, various programs have been organized in the traditional Dhaka College on the occasion of the Great Victory Day. As a part of that programme, the college campus has been illuminated from the evening onwards.
Professor Monira Begum, Convener of the Great Victory Day-2023 Celebration Committee and Head of Department of Sociology, said that we will celebrate the Great Victory Day on December 16 with due dignity along with teachers, students, officials and employees. Tomorrow at sunrise, hoisting of the national flag, paying tribute to the portrait of Bangabandhu in the Dhaka College premises, screening of victory songs and documentaries based on the Liberation War and a discussion meeting will be held.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A. S. M. Maqsud Kamal will be the chief guest of the program as well as freedom fighter, cultural activist and filmmaker Nasir Uddin Yusuf Bachchu will be felicitated on the stage, she added.
Dhaka College Principal Professor Mohammad Yusuf expressed the hope that the students will learn about the liberation war and the history of the country’s independence through these programs.
He said, Victory Day will be celebrated in Dhaka College with due dignity. We want students to know about the actual history of independence and sovereignty of the country.
