The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has said that strict legal action will be taken if misinformation is spread on various social media including Facebook about the new curriculum.) A warning notice signed by Nazma Akhtar warned in this regard on Sunday December 3
It states that the National Curriculum and Textbook Board is the only national body for preparing the curriculum and textbooks for students from pre-primary to higher secondary level. This institution is playing an important role in the development and expansion of quality education in Bangladesh. We have noticed that a vested interest group is trying to create negative sentiment in the public mind by providing false information and misinterpretation about the new National Curriculum.
“As part of this, activities that hurt the religious sentiments of common people or are against our national culture and values are being promoted as academic activities. It is told to draw a picture of Prophet Muhammad by writing and lying. By uploading obscene dance of some children and persons in school clothes along with Hindi songs, it is said that the curriculum is being taught, which is a blatant lie.
It also says that some people are doing frog jumps or duck calls — uploading videos saying its part of teacher training for the new curriculum, which is a complete lie. The new curriculum calls for showing respect and honor to people of all castes and religions. Our history, tradition, culture is set to evolve in future generations.
Those who are trying to endanger the education of young students through false propaganda are being warned to desist from such acts. If there are any errors in the curriculum, if you inform us about it, we will definitely consider it and make the necessary corrections. But legal action will be taken against him if he spreads falsehood.
The warning notice also said, NCTB requests the public not to be misled by false propaganda. It is also requested to refrain from uploading, sharing or commenting on such false social media.
