Although objections have been raised from various quarters about the current education system, it is undoubtedly a standard and up-to-date education system. This curriculum seems perfect to break out of the confines of rote learning in this age of information technology. But I have some suggestions for successful implementation of educational policy—
1. Provide adequate training to teachers. A good teacher can make any educational program successful.
2. As far as I know, the current education policy is modeled after the Finnish education system. Therefore, on the basis of competition, teachers can be trained in that country or training can be given to others through those trained in that country.
3. Ensuring equal pay for teachers in Finland to stop coaching/tutoring, so that talented people will be more inclined to choose the teaching profession if they see an attractive salary. Therefore, for the successful implementation of the education policy, that standard of pay should be ensured.
4. Applying the current education system from the first grade, so that the child students are exposed to the same style of education system. It is difficult for teachers, students or parents to adjust between one category of educational system and another category.
5. Classes can be taken only in English and Arabic to improve speaking skills at certain times per day. For this, skilled teachers should be appointed. Having knowledge of languages will increase the scope of work abroad.
6. Provision of necessary equipment is essential. Making rich arrangements of swimming pool, swing, playground, laboratory, computer club or library etc.
7. Learning will be work based and assessment should also be work based. Success in planting, growing vegetables and obtaining fruits from them can be scored. In addition to fulfilling food needs, the environment will be beautiful. Besides, the better the home environment, the higher the score. If the environment is not clean, the number will decrease.
8. Various awards can be given on creativity like research, innovation etc. Skilled teachers should be appointed to make students proficient in these subjects.
9. An assessment of the family’s overall affairs can be done, including awareness of the family’s means of income and expenditure on daily necessities and various activities. So that a student can learn to keep himself transparent and aware of various family matters from childhood.
10. In line with this, any corruption or irregularity in the family’s financial resources can be assessed in a legally or socially proven negative manner. Along with this, various measures and monitoring can be arranged from educational institutions to overcome this problem.
11. In addition to allotment for a maximum of 30-40 students in a classroom, arrangements should be made to make the room environment attractive and ensure quality toilets.
12. BCS examination should be abolished or revised to implement the current education policy besides ensuring the necessary budget. In this case it is important to ensure creativity and subjective jobs.
