Students of Jahangirnagar University have released 15 buses of Selfie Paribahan regarding a deadly accident that occurred last week–after the bus authorities paid the family of the deceased Tk 8 lac against compensation. Rubel Parvez, 32, a former student of JU and recommended for recruitment for the Bangladesh Civil Service in the 41st BCS (Education) cadre, was killed in a collision of the two buses of Selfie Paribahan in Dhamrai on the morning of December 7. 10 leaders and activists of left-leaning student organisations were offended in an alleged attack by Chhatra League members near the Raju Memorial Sculpture of Dhaka University. The incident occurred when left-wing activists demolished a banner located up by BCL before the sculpture, thanking PM Sheikh Hasina for the metro rail.
