Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. S. M. Maksud Kamal said that the young generation should play an essential role in building the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu’s dream.
He said this in the forecaster’s speech at the discussion meeting organized at the Teacher-Student Centre auditorium (TSC) on the occasion of the Martyred Intellectuals Day.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Prof. Momtaz Uddin Ahmed, President of Dhaka University Teachers Association Prof. Dr. Md. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, General Secretary Prof. Dr. Zeenat Huda, Secretary General of Dhaka University Alumni Association Molla Mohammad Abu Kawshar, Professor Abu Zafar Mohammad Saleh on behalf of Freedom Fighters Institutional Unit Command also attended the meeting.
Leaders of Dhaka University Officers’ Association, Class III Employees’ Association, Technical Employees’ Association, Class IV Employees Union and Shahid Parivar Kalyan Samity along with Dhaka University Chhatra League General Secretary Tanveer Hasan Saikat spoke to the program. Registrar Probir Kumar Sarker conducted the program.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. S. M. Maksud Kamal paid deep respect to the immortal memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the martyred intellectuals. He said that the intellectuals of this country had portrayed the sectarianism, ferocity and barbaric massacres of the Pakistani occupation forces to the world. They protested against all injustices, misdeeds and discrimination.
On the occasion of the day, black flags were hoisted on important buildings of the university including the Vice-Chancellor’s Building. Apart from this, prayers and supplications are offered in various halls, mosques and places of worship including the university central mosque, seeking forgiveness and peace of the souls of the martyred intellectuals.
