The pass mark of MBBS admission test of 2023-24 academic year of public and private medical colleges may be made 50 marks. A proposal in this regard will be sent to the Health Education and Family Welfare Department; it will be implemented after receiving the approval from the ministry.
According to a source in the Department of Health Education, the medical admission test for the academic year 2023-24 may be held on November 9. This time several changes are being made in the admission test like 10 marks may be deducted for students already enrolled in government medical whereas the pass marks in the admission test may be increased.
The source also informed a meeting was scheduled to be held with the Health Education and Family Welfare Department on Thursday (14 December) regarding the medical admission test but the meeting was postponed due to Intellectuals Day. Now the meeting will be held with the ministry next week when a proposal will be presented to increase the pass marks and cut 10 marks for students enrolled in government medical.
A senior official of the Department of Health Education, who did not wish to be named, told The Daily Campus on Thursday (14 December) as the pass mark in the MBBS academic examination is 60, the students should get used to it on admission in medical, and it is also being considered to increase the pass marks in the entrance exam.
After the final approval of the Ministry, The proposal to make the pass number 50 in the medical admission test will be implemented from the academic year 2023-24. The final decision on this matter may be taken in the meeting of the ministry next week, the official added
In this regard, the Director General of the Department of Health Education Professor Dr. Tito Mia told The Daily Campus, ‘It has been decided to propose several changes in the MBBS admission test for the academic year 2023-24. The matters will be presented in the meeting of the Ministry. We will implement the decision given by the ministry.
