The teachers and students of Biswanath Cambrian School and College were attacked while on an educational trip in Habiganj’s Chunarughat. The incident took place at Greenland Park in Ranigaon Union of the upazila on Thursday (December 14) when at least 20 people were injured. The injured were treated at Upazila Health Complex; five people have been sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Mohammad Sumon, assistant teacher of Vishwanath Cambrian School and College in Sylhet, said that 95 teachers and students came to the park in two buses for an educational tour. On arrival, the bus driver had an argument with a local easybike driver on the road. Later the easybike driver entered the park with locals and attacked us with sticks and local weapons.
Hillol Roy, Chunarughat Police Station, informed that the park road was narrow so buses and easy bikes could not go together. At one point, there was an argument between the bus driver-students and the easy bike driver. Then a group of miscreants attacked the park.
